A Day in Aruba.....Savaneta!

As the sun rises over Aruba enjoy a nice cup of coffee on the front porch as another day on this beautiful island begins. Locals are rushing off to work or school but you can just sit back, relax and enjoy a second cup.

Our recommendation for today - pack a picnic lunch, grab the snorkeling equipment, beach towels and sunscreen and head to Mangel Halto for the day. At Mangel Halto, a dense network of mangrove trees leads to an irresistibly inviting expanse of shallow, aquamarine water, made remarkably placid by the protective barrier reef further out. Lay on the dock or find a secluded area of beach by taking the boardwalk through the mangroves.

After a day in the sun and on the water head back home for an afternoon nap and to get ready for the evening.

Tonight’s options – go casual or upscale, both are close by!

For a casual but authentically Aruban experience head to Zeerover’s - a fisherman's wharf-cum-roadhouse promising a heavy dose of local flavor. A counter near the entrance sells fresh-caught fish to go. Patrons can also have the fish prepared on the premises and then enjoy it on the waterside deck among the seasoned locals playing pool or dominoes and discussing the latest town news over a few ice-cold beers.

And for a more upscale, romantic experience Flying Fishbone features dining by candlelight right on the beach with toes in the sand, under swaying palm fronds. Add a fine selection of delicious fresh seafood and steak creations made unforgettable by artistic plate presentations, and it truly doesn’t get any better than this!

End your first day back home on the patio with a cold beverage, a game of corn hole and sleep well because tomorrow we go to Playa!
